I will play fairly and to the best of my ability and strive to get 1% better each day. I will accept that mistakes are a part of sports and will use them as opportunities to grow. I will practice good sportsmanship and demonstrate self-control. I will not criticize calls made by officials and will allow my coach to address any issues with them. I will always support and encourage my teammates and prioritize the team’s success over my own. I will represent my team with class, handle winning and losing with grace, and ensure that my behavior reflects positively on my teammates, coaches, and program. I will treat my teammates and coaches with respect on and off the court. Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in reduced playing time, and repeated violations may result in suspension from practices and games. | I will lead by example by demonstrating good sportsmanship, supporting all players, and interacting respectfully with officials. I will strive to foster a love for basketball and do my best to make the experience fun for all participants while getting 1% better each day. I will prioritize the emotional and physical wellbeing of the athletes above any personal desire to win. I will deal directly with any player behavior issues, to ensure a positive environment for the entire team. I will remember that the game is for the players and not for the adults. Repeated violations of this Code of Conduct may result in removal from a coaching position. | I will practice good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, fans and officials. I will not criticize calls made by officials and will allow the coach to handle any issues with them. I will ensure that my behavior reflects positively on my team, coaches, and program. I will remember that VTB is an entirely volunteer-run organization, and coaches and Board members are volunteering significant time outside of their other work and family responsibilities to make this program possible. I will practice the “24 hour rule” to address any issues I have with coaches. I will remember that the game is for the players and not for the adults. Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in spectators being removed from games or suspended from future games. |
